7 Best Winter Drinks to Keep You Toasty

A lot of drinks are served over ice, but winter is coming, and there will be enough ice all around then! What about alcoholic drinks to keep you warm through the colder months, and to keep the parties going without giving everyone the shivers? Whether you order them out or make them at home, here are seven winter drinks to keep you nice and warm while you wait for summer to return.

1. Spiced Irish Coffee

If you are already a coffee drinker, then this beverage is the perfect way to start the day. The Spiced Irish Coffee combines coffee, sugar, and whiskey into a delicious and warm morning drink. Add whipped cream and pumpkin spice on top for extra color and flavor!

2. Orange Bourbon Tea

If you like tea more than you do coffee, give this one a try. Start with hot water, add some bourbon, squeeze an orange, and finish it off with a big spoon of honey. It’s good for both winter colds and winter’s cold weather!

3. Earl Grey Hot Toddy

This one’s for the tea-lovers, too. Start by making yourself some Earl Grey tea. Next, pour in some of your favorite alcoholic beverage. Then, go with your taste buds. If you like your drinks sweet, add honey. If you prefer your drinks be sour, add lemon juice. Whatever you choose, it’ll be perfect for you!

4. Boozy Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate

And here is the third category of hot drinks – hot chocolate! This beverage calls for Kahlua or Bourbon, depending on your personal preference. Make the hot chocolate with white chocolate chips, milk, and pumpkin puree, and then add the alcohol. You’ll end up with a drink that warms you to your toes and tastes like a spicy pumpkin pie!

5. Hot Buttered Rum Cocktail

For the Harry Potter fans trying to work Butterbeer and things like it into all parts of your life, a Hot Buttered Rum is a great addition to the winter line-up. Beat together butter and brown sugar, and then whisk that with dark rum. Afterwards, pour boiling water on it, and stir. The result is a steamy, smooth, buttery beverage that’s sure to leave you hooked. If it isn’t quite winter yet, or if you just can’t quite let go of fall, stir in some pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice to serve your cravings.

6. Smoked Maple Bourbon Chai Tea

There are alcoholic beverages for the chai fans, too. Steep the tea, and then stir in some maple bourbon and half-and-half cream. Use more tea bags if you want a stronger chai spice flavor, garnish the drink with a cinnamon stick, and enjoy!

7. Gingerbread Eggnog White Russian

If you’re in the mood for something a little fancier, give this classic drink with a Christmas twist a try. Shake together eggnog, vodka, Kahlua, molasses, and ginger. When serving, top the glasses with whipped cream, cinnamon, sugar, and a light drizzle of molasses.

Now you know there’s no need to shiver your way through winter, thanks to these warm drinks!
